This interface is where the scroller is built and edited. Here you can define all of the options desired for your scroller. Any of these options may be changed after insertion including the type of mouse trigger ( onMouseover, onClick etc... ) for the control buttons.
You can define as many content layers as you wish. When more than one content layer is defined in the interface a an optional set of controls will be inserted to select between them. The controls will show the selected content layer and hide the one previously visible to the viewer. The content layer that is currently visible will always be the "active" layer that responds to the scroller controls.
The Mouse Trigger
This option allows you to set the way the scroller is activated once on the page and viewed in a browser. There are 3 selections from which to choose.
- onMouseDown
This option will activate the scroller as long as the mouse is held down on the control. When the mouse is released the scroller will stop.
- onMouseOver
This option will activate the scroller as long as the mouse is over the control. When the mouse is taken off the control the scroller will stop.
- onClick
If the onClick option is chosen an extra button is added to the controls. A "Pause". This is because using the onClick option the scroller will scroll continuously until end of the content layer is reached or unless the scroller is stopped by clicking the pause button.
The stylesheet
If this option is selected a pre made stylesheet will be added to your site and linked to the scroller. The stylesheet contains formatted text for the scroller content and active links. If "Text" is used for the "Controls Type" the text in the controls will be formatted as well with custom psuedoclass rollovers. The stylesheet may be changed at any time via the Dreamweaver CSS Panel to suit your own taste in colors and/or font type and size
Preserve controls current position
The scrollers will automatically position the controls to the right and bottom of the scroller upon initial insertion or if/when making changes to the scrollers dimensions or position. The "Preserve controls current position" option was included for those that wish to place the controls in their own preferred location and not have the scroller interface reset it to the default position. This option like all of the others may be turned on or off at any time. If it is turned off the interface will return the controls back to the default position.
Controls Type
You may choose between using text or images for the scroller control buttons. If text is selected, simple active text controls will be inserted, ( Styled by the included stylesheet if chosen ), If the images option is selected the scroller will place the images in a folder in your site and insert them into the controls. These images and may be edited with the included Fireworks .png file or changed to your own buttons if you wish.
You may at any time switch between images or text for the controls or add or remove the "reset" button if desired.
