You must first have a gallery defined by using the Main Gallery Interface in order to use the Captions interface.

If you have defined multiple image folders associated with you Gallery
page, there will be a separate "
captions.js" file for each gallery placed into
your "
" folder. They will be named - "
captions1.js ,
captions2.js" etc.. depending on how many image folders you have
associated with your gallery. If you have only one image folder associated
with your gallery there will be only one captions1.js file.
You need not worry about how to update the correct "
captions.js" file(s). The Captions interface
will know which one to update automatically when you set your captions.
Remember: It is recommended to upload the entire
"
"
folder after making any changes to the gallery. This will assure that any
changes you have made will be updated completely.

For each gallery you have defined the "Gallery" list will populate with the folder paths where the Full Images for each gallery reside. By selecting an entry in the "Gallery" list, the "Image" list will populate with the actual images that are in the selected gallerys folder.

For each selection, the image will appear on the right of the when it is chosen from the list. This helps you to know exactly which image you are writing the caption for. You set the Captions by selecting each image from the Image List and typing into the Caption area the caption you want for the selected image. You can enter in plain text or valid HTML.
You can set all of the captions in one session for each and/or all of the galleries and images you have.
Although the Captions Interface will only look for images, it is recommended that you keep the images folder clean of any other files but the full size images themselves. It is best to have only the images used for your full images in your image folder(s).
The Gallery it is associated with and the path to the image from the root of your site will also be displayed.
If no caption has been set for an image the default text will display in the interface text field. This default text will not get written as a caption.

To set a caption for the image, type into the Caption area the description you want for the image. You can set captions for all, or only some of the images. Each time you enter in a description for an image you can move onto the next image. The interface will remember what you have entered for each one. You do not have to press the OK button each time you enter or change a caption.

You can go back to any of the captions at any time and change the text.
If you wish to delete a caption entirely for the image just remove all of
the text in the Caption text area completely. When you are finished press
the OK button and your captions will be written to the corresponding "
captions.js" file in your "
" folder in the root of your site.
You can also use valid HTML inside of your captions.

The example above will bold the word "Machine !!!" and it will appear under your image like this ... The Silver Machine !!!
Upload the "
"
folder and your done. Your captions will now appear alongside your image
when viewed in your gallery.
Note: As stated throughout the User Manual, It
is recommended to upload the entire "
"
folder after making any changes to the gallery. This will assure that any
changes you have made will be updated completely.
